เนื่องจาก TSA จะมีงาน Thai Night ในเทอมหน้า พวกเราจึงอยากจะมีประชุมเตรียมงานก่อนปิดภาคเรียนเพื่อที่จะได้ใช้เวลาในช่วงซัมเมอร์เตรียมงานกันครับ ขอเชิญพี่ๆน้องๆมาร่วมประชุมเตรียมงาน และแสดงความคิดเห็นใน วันเสาร์ที่ 1 เมษายน เวลา 16:00น. ที่ Daniels Hall ห้อง 136 ครับ
งาน Thai Night ในปีที่แล้วประสบความสำเร็จเป็นอย่างมากเพราะความร่วมมือของทุกคน ปีนี้ เราจึงต้องการความร่วมมือจากพี่ๆ น้องๆ อีกครั้งในการช่วยจัดงานให้ประสบความสำเร็จ ครับ
หลังจากการประชุมพวกเราจะนัดทานข้าว เลี้ยงส่งพี่ๆที่จะจบ ที่ Mandarin Wok เวลา 18.00น. ด้วยครับ ขอเชิญทุกคนมารับประทานอาหารและร่วมแสดงความยินดีกันครับ

As TSA will be organizing Thai Night next semester, we will hold a general meeting for all TSA members this Saturday, May 1, at 4pm in Daniels Hall Room 136 to discuss plans for the event. We will be open for opinions and questions regarding the event.
We will also be having a Graduation Dinner at 6.00pm at Mandarin Wok to congratulate students graduating in this year.

สำหรับในวันเสาร์ที่ 10 เมษายน ทางสมาคมนักเรียนไทย TSA ร่วมกับ Thai American Insight (TAI) จะจัดงาน Songkran Thai New Year Celebration ครับ งานนี้พวกเราจะเน้นไปที่การเผยแพร่วัฒนธรรมไทยให้ชาวต่างชาติได้รับรู้ จะมีการนำเสนอประวัติ และ ประเพณีวันสงกรานต์ ให้ความรู้เกี่ยวกับศิลปวัฒนธรรมไทย และ จะมีอาหารไทยให้ผู้เข้าชมครับ พวกเราอยากให้ในงานมีการนำเสนอ เสื้อผ้า และการแต่งตัวของไทย จึงจะขอรบกวนคนที่มีชุดไทยให้ช่วยติดต่อพวกเรามาด้วยครับ หากใครมีข้อเสนอแนะใดๆก็ติดต่อ TSA Committee ได้เสมอครับ งานนี้จะเริ่มขึ้น เวลา 19.00น. เป็นต้นไป ที่ Latzer Hall, University YMCA เช่นเดียวกันครับ ข้อมูลและรายละเอียดอื่นๆจะตามมาในภายหลังครับ พวกเรา TSA Committee ต้องขออภัยมา ณ ที่นี้ด้วยที่ไม่สามารถให้ทุกท่านมีส่วนร่วมในการจัดงานครั้งนี้ เนื่องจากเวลาที่กระชั้นชิดครับ

เพื่อเป็นการเริ่มต้นปีใหม่ไทยอย่างเป็นศิริมงคล ทางสมาคมนักเรียนไทยได้นิมนต์พระสงฆ์ จากวัดพระศรีรัตนมหาธาตุในชิคาโกมาให้พรกับทุกๆคน จึงจะขอเชิญทุกคนมาทำบุญเลี้ยงพระถวายเพล ข้าวสารอาหารแห้ง หรือเครื่องสังฆทาน รูปแบบงานจะเป็นคล้ายๆ Potluck จึงอยากให้นำอาหารมาแบ่งปันกันเองด้วย งานทำบุญสงกรานต์จะมีขึ้นในเช้าวันเสาร์ที่ 3 เมษายน เวลา 8.45น. จนถึงเวลาอาหารเที่ยง ที่ Latzer Hall, University YMCA (1001 S.Wright St., Champaign)

As the approach of the Thai New Year, Songkran, TSA will organize a Songkran Merit Ceremony (‘Tum Boon’) for all who wish to participate. Monks from Wat Phrasriratanamahadhatu or Wat Phrasri in Chicago will be coming to give us blessings for the new year. The ceremony will allow Thai students and residents of the Champaign-Urbana area to make merit together as a community, and to strengthen morale of those participated. The Songkran Merit Ceremony will be on Saturday, April 3rd starting at 8.45am at Latzer Hall, University YMCA (1001 S.Wright St., Champaign). The ceremony will be potluck-style. Please bring in food to offer to monks and also to share among ourselves.
Moreover, TSA and Thai American Insight (TAI) will be organizing a Songkran Thai New Year Celebration event aiming to present and educate the Champaign-Urbana community the Songkran history and traditions. There will be a presentation on Songkran and Thai food will be provided for all participants. This event will be held on the evening of Saturday April 10th at the University YMCA’s Latzer Hall (1001 S.Wright St., Champaign) starting from 7pm onward. Please bring your friends to learn about Songkran and enjoy a delicious Thai dinner.

ปีนี้ พวกเราทุกคน มีความตั้งใจที่จะทำให้งานของ TSA ออกมาดีที่สุด แต่ทั้งนี้ทั้งนั้น เพื่อ งานที่ราบรื่นและความสำเร็จของ สมาคม พวกเราก็ต้องขอความร่วมมือทุกคนใน การให้คำแนะนำ ความคิดเห็น และข้อติชม
สำหรับการจัดงาน Thai Night จากที่พวกเรา ทุกคนได้ประชุมปรึกษาเรื่องแผนงานปี 2010 กันนั้น ก็ได้ข้อสรุปว่า ควรจะเลื่อนงานไป จัดในเทอม Fall 2010 แทน เนื่องจากเวลาการเตรียมงานที่กระชั้น ชิด ทำให้มีปัญหาความไม่พร้อม ทั้งการจัดหาสถานที่ และการจัดเตรียมการแสดง
สำหรับงานที่จะเกิดขึ้นเร็วๆนี้ ทางเราก็ได้เตรียมพร้อมในการจัดงานทำบุญในวันสงกรานต์และจะมีการ เล่นกีฬากระชับมิตรกับสมาคมนักเรียนไทยของมหาวิทยาลัย Purdue และ Indiana ในเดือนเมษายนนี้เช่นกัน พวกเราจะแจ้งข้อมูลเพิ่มเติมให้ทราบ ในภายหลัง
